My Story 4 His Glory

My Story of Hope and Healing

After the doctor gave me six weeks to live because the tumor had moved to my brain stem, without fear, I replied, “I’ll tell God what you said.” I was not in denial, but my faith was totally in the goodness and faithfulness of God.  A week later God directed me to a TV show I have never seen before or since, called Discovery Health by which I heard of an amazing doctor who could remove the tumor without destroying my facial nerve. One miracle after another led me to Dr. Fukushima at Duke Hospital in North Carolina. He removed the tumor successfully and sent me back to Colorado in ten days with no meds and no reason to return.  God is Faithful.

My story is God’s story through me, and your story will also give Him glory as you put your trust in Him and follow His instructions found in the Bible.  The Word of God is living, active and powerful for you to overcome all the power of the enemy.  Start decreeing what God decrees here in Psalm 103:  1 Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all my iniquities, Who heals all my diseases, Who redeems my life from destruction, Who crowns me with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies my mouth with good things, so that my youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy.  Bless the Lord, O my soul.

What Is “Decreeing the Word”?

Decreeing is speaking God’s promises out loud — declaring the truth of His Word over your life, health, and circumstances. It’s not magic or wishful thinking. It’s not like putting a coin into a slot machine and getting what you want.  It is powerful faith in action, and it starts with a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Yeshua.  God’s not a sugar daddy, but He is Daddy, and He loves His family.  YOU, when you invite God to live in your heart, you become a child of God’s family; you receive the Spirit of adoption, whereby you cry out Abba Father (Romans 8:15).

Words have power — “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).

When you speak God’s Word, you are agreeing with the truth, not the lies of the enemy.

The devil tries to deceive with half-truths, but God’s Word is 100% true and alive (John 8:44, Hebrews 4:12).

Decreeing helps keep God’s promises alive in your heart and mind, so fear, doubt, and lies don’t take root.

How Do I Decree the Word?

  1. Find a Bible verse that speaks to your need — healing, peace, provision, etc.
  2. Personalize it: Make it about you. For example, “I am healed because He sent His Word and healed me” (Psalm 107:20).
  3. Speak it out loud daily — with faith and expectancy!
  4. Repeat it until it sinks deep in your heart and changes your thinking.
  5. Declare it confidently in your everyday life, especially in moments of fear or uncertainty.

Why Decreeing Changed My Life

God’s Word changes us because His Word is LIFE.  For whatever God says to us is full of living power: it is sharper than the sharpest dagger, cutting swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are” (Hebrews 4:12 TLB).  By God’s words we can see where we’re going; they throw a beam of light on our dark path (Psalm 119:105 MSG).  His Word is Truth (John 17:17).  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (II Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV). We speak the Word because it is life, healing, truth, direction, protection, provision, victory and everything we need for life and godliness (see II Peter 1:3).
